HPC’s experienced fire safety team can conduct fire risk assessments for all non-domestic buildings including shared accommodation and HMOs, hospitality venues, factories, warehouses, and offices. Our assessors are trained to carry out fire risk assessments and provide guidance in accordance with British Standards.
One of our fire risk assessors will arrange a visit on-site to conduct a fire risk assessment of the building or area of your responsibility. On the day, the assessor will evaluate your fire records, emergency evacuation procedures and, where necessary, any permit to work systems that may be in place.
Following the risk assessment of the building or areas of responsibility, a thorough fire risk assessment will be drawn up, which will include a list of any findings and an action plan for corrective action.
Your documented fire risk assessment will not only contribute towards reducing the risk of fire occurring and guarantee compliance with current fire safety legislation, but will ensure that you have appropriate precautions and safeguards in place to protect building users.
Fire risk assessments should be reviewed annually, but it could be more frequently depending on the level of risk your building holds. Our team can help to distinguish how regularly you should review them. Please get in touch with the HPC team for support with your fire risk assessments.
A fire risk assessment is an inspection of a building to identify potential fire risks and hazards. It ensures that effective measures are in place to prevent fires, protect everyone in the building, and minimise damage if a fire occurs.
As the Responsible Person of your building, you are required to identify any fire risks and hazards on your premises, record all findings, and take appropriate action. This must be done regardless of your size or use of the premises. All fire safety arrangements must also be recorded in written form, including how fire safety is managed within the building. The Responsible Person may appoint someone more experienced and knowledgeable in fire safety to undertake or review fire risk assessments.
